Tummy Troubles

Tummy Troubles

Feeling nauseous is literally one of my least favorite feelings. It was one of my greatest worries about being pregnant - not how much weight I’d gain or how much giving birth might hurt - not even wondering if I’d poop in front of my husband with an extra hard push - no, my fear was about morning sickness! Thank goodness I got off pretty easy on that front with both my babies, but still whether it’s pregnancy, a stomach bug or sketchy sushi we all face tummy troubles from time to time. Here’s how I deal with them!

Activated Charcoal

If something bad is in your tummy and trying to get out - this is the first thing to reach for!  Activated charcoal binds to toxins and helps escort them out of your body. It’s used to fight poisons and overdoses as well. These capsules will help rid your body of toxins and settle your stomach in a snap. If you are fighting the stomach flu you can continue to take these throughout the day.

Digestzen from dōTERRA

I have literally gone from shaking and dry heaving over the toilet to completely fine within minutes from this magic blend of oils. The kids love it too!

Aztec Clay and Tummy Tea

This combo is really potent for helping during a stomach bug. It’s soothing, hydrating, and settles things down quickly.  Like activated charcoal the clay binds to toxins and helps get them out of your body while the tea is full of antioxidants and helps digestion.

Coconut water

Replenishing your body with electrolytes is important and a high quality coconut water will help you do just that! Look for organic and non pasteurized product to ensure high quality like this one!

Ginger Ale & Kombucha

Did you know most ginger ales you find in the stores don’t actually have ginger in them?? What they do have is plenty of sugar - the last thing you want when fighting bugs!  There are a few natural ginger ales made with actual ginger and little/no sugar - we like this one. But an even better option is Ginger Kombucha! It is alive and a natural probiotic meaning it helps soothe and heal your tummy. This will actually be helpful and not hurtful like soda would be.

Ginger Chews

I went through a lot of these when I was pregnant, but I also just carry them in my purse to combat that not so great feeling after a meal when it occasionally happens.  I like spicy things so these are basically a treat for me as well!
