Bulgarian Rose Body & Face Butter

Bulgarian Rose Body & Face Butter

100% edible - don't put anything ON your body that you wouldn't put IN your body! There are a variety of deodorants on the market now that label themselves “natural” but really don’t have great ingredients when you stop to take a look. Luckily there are a handful that actually are natural and DO work as well - you can find some of the ones we like best here but if like me you’re sensitive to baking soda or allergic to aloe then you will likely find yourself out of luck with the store bought brands. Never fear, we’ll share our easy and effective recipe for great smelling and pit pleasing deodorant!

ingredients

  • 8 oz. rose water
  • 6 oz. bariani olive oil
  • 2 oz. coconut oil
  • 1/2 oz. cocoa butter
  • 3/4 oz. granulated beeswax (or more for a stiffer frosting)
  • 15 drops of organic rosehip seed oil
  • 15 drops of organic steam distilled Bulgarian rose essential oil

Method

Add all ingredients but essential oils to the same pot, gently melting the oils, wax, and rosewater. Set aside until it cools down a bit. At this point, the rose water will be separated from the oils - pour off the rosewater into your blender, reserving fat mixture. Add the essential oils to the blender.

Put the lid on the blender without the hole stopper and turn on low speed. Scoop the fat part into the hole as the blades spin, increasing speed as you go until the two parts come together (it may take a few swipes with the spatula in between to mix it thoroughly).

Divide into five or six small jars. The saturated fat ingredients render this product very stable. You can keep the jar you're using in your bathroom cabinet; the rest can be stored in the fridge or given as gifts.
